On Saturday and Sunday, 12th and 13th August 2017 in Moscow at the Main Stage at “Sokolniki Park”, will be held the 4th India Day celebration in Moscow, Russia. Time of commencement activities- 10.00-22.00 Hours.

Have you ever dreamed of visiting India? See her diverse centuries-old culture, taste her national dishes, try a Sari and more? Then you have the chance to see at least a piece of India in Moscow-India Day celebration in Russia!

All the activities planned to celebrate the India Day in Russia is giving the audience an opportunity to feel themselves in India. You will be able to see all the beauty of this incredible Asian country right here in Moscow! The Russians and the Indians have a lot in common with the love for the holidays. Therefore, we invite you to celebrate India Day together.

Independence Day is one of the most important day in India commemorating the nation’s independence, which will be organized as India Day for the 4th time in Moscow. This year’s event is of particular importance since, in addition to being a terrific Festival of Indian culture, it will also mark and celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Russia.

India Day is Organized by The Indian National Culture Center “SITA”, with the support Culture Partners  Embassy of India in Russia, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Moscow Government.

Indian Food: Today, Indian cuisine is popular not only in the countries of the Indian subcontinent but also throughout the world. The chef will share the secrets of cooking original authentic Indian dishes on the event. Delicious Indian cuisine, which is characterized by a wide variety of regional styles and use of traditional spices.

Indian Souvenirs: At the exhibition, there will be handmade Indian handicrafts & jewelry from the best masters. Visitors can buy traditional Indian souvenirs. In addition, the exhibition will be organized where you can buy the famous high-quality Indian tea, various spices, and delicious types of rice.

Mehendi: You will have an opportunity not only to familiarize with the oldest culture “Mehendi” but also you can get beautiful mehendi designs on your body that unlike tattoos are temporary and easily washed.

Indian Wedding: Guests of the India Day will have an opportunity to see the authentic Indian weddings that take place considering all old traditions that are passed on from generation to generation.

Chariot Festival (Ratha Yatra): The visitors of the event will get acquainted with one of the main festivals of the Hindu “Ratha-Yatra (chariot festival), which gives out positive energy and will make the event pleasant.

Lottery: It is an instant lottery and the player will know immediately if they won or not. Those who buy three lottery tickets will receive a special gift.

Rangoli: Among other activities, there will be a rangoli competition and the person who wins get a prize. Rangoli is an art form native to Nepal, India, and Bangladesh in which patterns are created on the floor in living rooms or courtyards using materials such as colored rice, dry flour, colored sand or flower petals.
